One of the coolest things I did in 2021 happened near Mt. Hood, Oregon this past December. A photographer's retreat that included a few styled sessions put together by two Oregon photographers (see my previous post) in the woods near Mt. Hood. It was cold, rainy, and the snow was just beginning to show up in the mountains, but it was the perfect time to shoot alongside some talented Oregon wedding and elopement photographers - a niche that I have been strongly considering adding to my portfolio of services.

Bride wearing sequined green dress standing in green forest

When I saw the setting for this photo session was beautiful, I mean it was simply stunning. There's nothing like a dreamy forest backdrop with the added mood of Winter fog winding in between the forest greens. Our models were so incredible, and I'm literally obsessed with the skin tone of this gorgeous bride. Also, how gorgeous is this dress by Sew Romantic Designs. We were able to preview the dress the night before the photoshoot during our planning process, but it truly came alive when our model wore it and gave us authentic forest goddess vibes.

The model really popped against the background of the Oregon woods, and the light blush colors of her beautiful bouquet was the perfect, soft and romantic accent to compliment her dramatic gown. I just love the peek-a-boo wide angle shot at the camera. All these images were shot on a Sony 24mm G master lens with my Sony A7iii. This was my first time using this lens - purchased immediately before leaving for my trip - and I have to say I'm so excited to use this lens on all my 2022 sessions to capture stunning wide angle scenes.

Female couple eloping in forest with white macrame floral backdrop

I'm so glad that I was able to participate on this styled elopement session in the woods to experience a true outdoor Pacific Northwest wedding. The backdrops, florals, styling were all gorgeous and I truly can't wait to do another elopement session for a future couple. If you're thinking about planning an outdoor wedding whether it be elopement or a micro wedding, drop me a note as I would love to be considered as your wedding photographer. I'm available to travel and would gladly jump in and to share the talented vendors that helped to plan this wedding for our crew. Enjoy the rest of the photos from this beautiful day.
